It has been an amazing 18-months of partnership with Nexstar and its members. Since May of 2020, when we joined on as a Strategic Partner, Dexcomm has had the opportunity to serve over 60 members! That number says less about us and more about the power of this network and the across-the-board commitment to growth.
We have learned more about ourselves and about our value to our customers in the last 18-months than we have in years of doing business outside of this strategic partnership with Nexstar. I believe that is what Nexstar is built to do. Joining Nexstar is not the end goal. Being a part of the network is not the end of the rainbow.
It is just the beginning! The Nexstar team and its members challenge one another, and their partners, each day to get better and better. This is an elite network because not a single individual in it will settle for less. Iron sharpening iron, and what an EXCILERATING atmosphere to be in.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Nexstar team for another amazing experience in San Marco Island, Florida, this past October. I was not sure how it could top Dexcomm’s first ever Super Meeting experience of 2020, in Arizona, but it did and then some. If you did not have the chance to be in attendance, or are not a part of the Nexstar network, OR are trying to put something like this together for your own network of people please allow me to tell you a little bit about it.
First, make it a point to “get away”. Yes, it is terribly hard to leave your business behind and not be working “in” it, but it is critical to take a step away and work “on” it. Hence our luxurious destination of San Marco Island, Florida, and the beautiful J.W. Marriott Beach Resort.
Second, make it a point to invite not just the members of your network but also the partners (vendors). It is just as critical for your partners to be on the same page with the annual themes, goal setting, “what’s new”, and comradery building a Super Meeting can inspire. Or else, how can you expect them to be a TRUE partner to your team and customers? An extension of your business, not a separate entity.
Third, set an agenda. Do not leave the productivity of the week, or few days, up to chance! Bring in keynote speakers, offer breakout session (see Dexcomm’s for free, here!) opportunities to your preferred vendors, allow for members to speak on tips and tricks and tools they have found success (or failure) in using. Provide meals so that all can remain as one and not begin to splinter off on their own paths, in between sessions. It is a once in a year chance for a network of tens or hundreds or thousands to be one.
Last, make it FUN! Every single person there has their own professional and personal battles they are fighting. Make this an event that adds to their joy and energy levels. Remember that this is a “mountain top” moment and you want your attendees leaving inspired, motivated, enlightened, and empowered. It will be hard to make it annual tradition if they only feel more burdened, behind, unproductive, and unmoved.
